The disturbance of the sense of smell (parosmia) is not only the result of a corona infection for some people.

Parkinson's disease is also associated with a loss of smell.

Munich – Sudden smell and taste disorders are now considered to be one of the best-known symptoms of a corona infection.

In up to 20 percent of those affected, these can last for months or longer, and some people suffer from the disorder indefinitely or even a loss of their ability to smell and taste.
