Spotlight

Created in 2011, the Ingénieuses program puts the spotlight on the few women present in French engineering schools.

In 2016-2017, they represented 26% of enrolments, according to a study by the Institute of Public Policy, attached to the Paris School of Economics, published in January 2021. In addition to being low, the proportion women in the profession has stagnated since 2006, point out the authors of the study - while business schools are equal and IEPs are now predominantly female.

The problem takes root upstream: in 2016, like ten years earlier, a third of students in the Scientific CPGE, the main route to the Grandes Ecoles, are women.

An under-representation that we therefore find, logically, in the profession: in 2018, they represented 22% of female engineers, according to the Society of Engineers and Scientists of France.
