A source in the World Health Organization told the media in the UK today (Wednesday) that there is no evidence that the new variant is more resistant to vaccines and that there is no need to develop another vaccine that is more suitable for the Omicron variant.
The unnamed official said there was evidence that the new variant, which first broke out in South Africa in neighboring countries, spread more bitterly than other species, apparently due to the fact that 40 new mutations were discovered in it and it is significantly different from other variants, such as Delta strain.
Meanwhile, the President of the European Commission, Ursula van der Lane, today called on the member states to apply a compulsory vaccine in their territory in order to prevent a fifth and deadly wave of the corona plague.
"We must support the member states that have already activated compulsory vaccination in their territory and ensure the availability of booster vaccines for the entire population in all EU countries. Failure to respond will be vaccinated.
