Because of the discovery of a World War II bomb, there have been extensive closures in Berlin-Friedrichshain.
No S-Bahn and regional trains stopped at Ostkreuz station on Thursday afternoon, and the station should be cleared.
People should leave their homes near the site, the police said.
Berlin - The 500-kilogram bomb from World War II was discovered during construction work on the corner of Persiusstrasse and Bödikerstrasse, roughly between the Spree and Ostkreuz train station.
The police specialists have to defuse them before they can be taken away.
Before that, everyone has to leave the area, which can take hours.
How big the restricted area will be and how many people will be affected was not yet clear in the early afternoon.
