Gauting - 13 students from the Paul Hey Middle School in Gauting and the Realschule Gauting received a certificate after completing their training as DB student guides.

With the document you can score points when looking for a job.

In addition to the certificate, representatives of the S-Bahn Munich in the presence of the second mayor of the municipality of Gauting, Dr.

Jürgen Sklarek gave the students a DB student guide ID.

In school transport, there are always incidents on platforms or in trains of the S-Bahn in which vehicles are damaged, train traffic is obstructed or passengers are disturbed.

In some cases, dangerous behavior can also be observed, such as illegally crossing the tracks or jostling on the platforms, the railway explains in a press release.

Four trainers from the Munich S-Bahn train together with the federal police to train eighth-grade students according to the motto "Convince instead of cheating".

The task of the DB student guides is not to record and report misconduct.

Rather, they should talk to their classmates and convince them to change their behavior.

During the almost three-month training, special emphasis is placed on the topics of de-escalation, conflict management, body language, neutral behavior, communication techniques, safe and friendly demeanor, dealing with provocations and settling disputes.

Above all, the students learn to take responsibility.

DB school attendants work on an honorary basis and on a voluntary basis.

You are under no obligation to act.

In every situation on the train, they decide for themselves whether their intervention could improve the situation or not.

50,000 euros are invested annually for the DB student guide program.

In Gauting, a bus company also supports the training and provides a bus and drivers for the training.
