This new complaint allows the almost automatic seizure of an investigating judge, the preliminary investigation having been closed without further action in April 2021, according to Le Parisien.
The investigations had been entrusted to the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) to determine the conditions for the use of defense weapons by the police.
A ranking without a “scandalous” follow-up
At the end of a Saturday afternoon in April 2020, a 5-year-old girl was seriously injured at the very moment when young people clashed with the police in the sensitive district of La Noé, in Chanteloup-les-Vignes. Intervened to control a motorcyclist riding on a vehicle reported as stolen, the police were attacked by around fifty people who threw various projectiles at them. The security forces responded with LBD fire and tear gas canisters.
During these clashes, a little girl was hit in the head by an unidentified projectile.
She was urgently transferred to the Necker hospital in Paris and then operated on.
According to her mother, it was a shot from a defense ball launcher (LBD) that injured the little girl.
The classification without follow-up is “
scandalous
”, estimates the lawyer of the family of the little girl Me Yassine Bouzrou with AFP.
The council regrets that a male DNA, discovered on a projectile picked up by the parents at the scene where the girl was injured, was not analyzed during the investigation finally closed.
