American academic Gregory Makoff has written a book about Argentina's debt crisis. Makoff: "The world learned a lot from Argentina's difficulties" Makoff worked for 21 years as a debt restructuring advisor in Jamaica, Colombia, Brazil, South Africa, Nigeria, among others.

He was also a US Treasury official where he had to deal with the issue in Puerto Rico. The book will be presented this Thursday at the Council of the Americas in New York. It is a detailed account of the Argentine nightmare linked to defaults and restructuring, beginning with the 2001 crisis.
