Hoteliers are up in arms against Google’s new results pages. With the Digital Markets Act, they expected to gain visibility on the internet.

But the legislation on digital services which comes into force this Thursday will not have the expected impact. For the slightest search, hotel reservation sites will be relegated to the end of the results. Small independents feel more deprived than large chains. Between incomprehension and concerns, they feel trapped by a development that they did not see coming. Most of their reservations are in fact made on the Internet and the Internet user has no time to waste: they make their decision in a few clicks.
