The injunction to use the webcam is indicative of a new era of work. For a time, it was a deliverance, a little breath of freedom during a period when you had to have authorization to set foot outside. Some had even relocated the Friday evening afterwork behind the screen. But no matter: it will pass. It has even established itself over the long term in our way of working.
