Adecco fined 50,000 euros for discrimination in hiring and racial registration. The temporary employment giant was being sued for having set up, in one of its agencies, a file which identified black temporary workers to exclude them from certain missions.

The defendants, Olivier P. and Mathieu C., former directors of the Montparnasse temporary employment agency, were sentenced to a fine of 10,000 euro, of which 7,000 were suspended. Between 1997 and 2001, the agency that the two defendants managed in the Mont parnasse district of Paris is said to have recorded some 500 black Temporary Workers.
