The Finance Committee chaired by MK Moshe Gafni today approved a series of transfers of budget surpluses between the 2023 budget year and the 2024 budget year. Most of the transfers include funds intended for organizations affiliated with ultra-orthodox societies.

For example, the Ministry of Health received a budget of approximately 26 million shekels in accordance with government decisions regarding the "implementation of coalition agreements in 2023 and beyond", which will be transferred to various organizations. The Prime Minister's Office will receive NIS 10 million as an authorization to commit to carry out operations and projects and to support ultra-orthodox society. The budget intended for the training of ultra-orthodox bus drivers will be transferred to the Ministry for Transportation. The total amount is several tens of millions of shekels, according to the Finance Committee's decision. The transfers will take effect from the beginning of the new fiscal year on January 1, 2015. The amount of the budget transfers is not yet known, but is expected to be in the region of $1.5 billion.
