January inflation was 20.6%. It was announced by INDEC and it is the first measurement of the year.

The CPI had registered a 25.5% increase in December, closing the year with a 211.4% increase. In November, the jump in the CPI had been 12.8%. Private estimates had anticipated that the price increase would be in a range of between 20% and 23%, below the official number from the previous month. In 12 months, Buenos Aires' interannual inflation reached 238.5%.
