Mélinée Soukémian, wife of Missak Manouchian, died in 1989. She was also a communist resistance fighter.

Their coffins will enter the Pantheon at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21. Mélinée was born in 1913 in Constantinople (now Istanbul), she came from a wealthy family of civil servants in the Ottoman Empire. Her destiny turns tragic when, aged only 3, she witnesses the tragedy of the Armenian genocide, which will take away her parents.
