Property tax is the only local tax owed by individuals since the disappearance of the housing tax on the main residence at the turn of the 2020s. The approximately 34 million owners subject to property tax will all see the bill increase by at least 3.9%.

This corresponds to the revaluation of rental bases, indexed to the harmonized consumer price index (HICP) One of the five largest increases over the last forty years but almost half as high as the historic 7.1% in 2023.
