Bloomberg launches its own index to compete with the CAC 40. The “Bloomberg France 40’ is one of fifty equity indices launched on Monday in more than ten countries.
Since 1973, Bloomberg has first built indexes for bonds, which are most common in the markets. The group is now trying to expand into other markets (raw materials, stocks, climate indices) All of Bloomberg's indices now cover more than 99% of the free-floating market capitalization of nearly 50 developed and emerging countries.
