The Body Shop has declared bankruptcy in the United Kingdom. The restructuring leaves 10,000 jobs in 66 countries up in the air.

In Spain, the British company has 267 permanent workers and 43 its own stores. Customers of The Body Shop will be able to continue shopping as normal, at least for now. The company's financial difficulties have been growing as more and more competition arose and the organic, natural or vegan cosmetics market believed in sales, while some companies were left behind. The Body shop contributed to changing 24 laws in 22 countries by mobilizing its clients against animal testing.
