The heads of the authorities in the north were amazed to discover that although the government has been unable for months to deliver the 3.5 billion shekels it promised for the rehabilitation of the north, now the stated amount has increased. The money will be given to everyone at the expense of the evacuated authorities.
The program, which was revealed today in Vala! money, includes strengthening businesses and factories, promoting the foodtech sector, improving transportation infrastructure, urban renewal and expanding rural settlements. A university will be established in Kiryat Shmona within three years, a medical center will be set up on Kofti, and a "northern headquarters" will beestablished. The "Protection of the North" program will be completed, and will be budgeted at 1.4 billion shekel by the Ministry of Defense, 10 million shekel will be allocated for the protection of agricultural areas in communities adjacent to the fence, all this as early as 2024. An amount of 11.25 million shekel will be transferred for reinforcement and equipment fire stations.
