French farmers denounced a provocation after the release of a report by the Court of Auditors. The report recommends reducing the cattle herd to reduce CO2 emissions.

France is Europe's largest beef producer and second largest dairy herd behind Germany. Cattle farming accounts for 11.8% of the country's emissions, according to the government's plan to reduce greenhouse gases."We have a model of cattle farming that we can be proud of," insists Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne at the National Assembly.
