"Mouse typhus" ("rickettsia") is a bacterial disease caused by a bacterium. In the last two years, 16 patients have arrived at the hospital, while five years before only one case was registered.
At the Wolfson Hospital they did find a connection between the working route of the train and the addresses of the patients who arrived. "We feel that there are a lot of rats in the area of Tel Aviv, Holon and Bat Yam - because we simply encounter them," says Dr. Faran.
