"20 Days in Mariupol" has been sweeping up awards, the latest being the Bafta last Sunday, and is a candidate (favourite) for the Oscar for best documentary. The author, Mstyslav Chernov, 39 years old, is a Ukrainian from Kharkiv, a top-class journalist from the AP news agency.

In 2023 he won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service - Journalism for the Public Good for his exclusive coverage of the siege.
