Hunt claimed credit for having implemented the commitment to halve inflation, found at 11% at the start of his mandate and already "down to 4%", ahead of schedule and beyond schedule. He also announced a revision of GDP to +0.8% in 2024 and +1.9% in 2025: with a trend indicated in recent years as "better than Germany, France or Italy"
