The Court of Auditors advises the government to cut back on aid for personal services. Nanny at home, assistance for the elderly and disabled, homework help, cleaning lady, gardening, DIY, computer assistance, etc.: these “ diverse ” services received 8.8 billion euros of state support in 2022.
The Court points to a “ windfall effect ”, estimating that the consumption of personal services “ is concentrated on the 20 % of households with the highest incomes”
