Isabelle Côté invites us to understand the mechanisms of violence and to know ourselves better in order to deal with verbal or physical attacks. A social worker in Canada for 35 years, she received death threats around twenty years ago which affected her physically and psychologically, to the point of being on sick leave for a year.

After producing a book aimed at social professionals, she published The art of defusing everyday violence (1), to inform the general public and help deal with everyday violence.
