Despite these new measures put in place to make exiting the metro more fluid, it is still used by many tourists who persist and want to make their trendy video, so much so that the Catalan police have been called to the rescue several times to maintain the order. “It's dangerous, people can fall, but above all it's very uncivil, because they take up all the space on the stairs and some start again several times. It creates traffic jams and a problem for mobility,” explains a TMB (Barcelona Metropolitan Transport) employee to Barcelona’s French-speaking media Equinox. “You can get your fingers caught while picking up the phone, or even trip and fall, people are unconscious,’ warns the security guard.
