On average, the pension for women in the Upper Palatinate is 772 euros, and for men it is 1,266 euros per month. Only one in three people who would be entitled to housing benefit take advantage of the offer. Pensioners often prefer to earn extra money through mini-jobs rather than claiming social benefits.
