The National Holocaust Museum illustrates the persecution of Dutch Jews. Assisted by Dutch officials, the Nazi regime methodically dehumanized Jews to death.

Almost 80 years have passed since the liberation of the country by allied troops. The opening of the museum comes at a special time because many of the survivors are disappearing due to their advanced age. The museum has taken advantage of and renovated the facilities of a former Protestant teacher preparation school, whose director, Johan van Hulst, cooperated in 1943 with Henriette Pimentel.
