A young woman in Munich was confronted with a bold demand from a landlord. She had to provide proof that she is not pregnant to view an apartment.
Landlords are not allowed to ask about existing pregnancies or family planning. The young woman could hardly believe the demand: “I found it absurd that something like that would be asked for when viewing an apartment,” she said. The apartment ad from Munich was deleted after just a few hours, as was the associated account. However, given the high demand for apartments, this is not uncommon.
