Maggie O'Farrell's novel Hamnet is being adapted by the Royal Shakespeare Company. The play, which runs until mid-June, will land in London's West End in autumn.

Hamnet has sold 1.5 million copies since it was published during the 2020 pandemic. The author wanted to explore the connection between the death of her son and the writing of the work that bears her name (with one letter difference) The play is signed by Lolita Chakrabarti, responsible for the successful musical based on The Life of Pi.
