'The tree of golden butterflies': a debut full of beauty and mystery. The debut feature by Vietnamese director Pham Thien An is a deep and contemplative road movie that follows the steps and dreams of a young man in search of his brother.

The film evokes a landscape framed between the rituals of the Catholic community Vietnamese, a minority to which the characters and the director himself belong. The words of a friend, of an ex-nun girlfriend and of an old man who knew war or of a wise old woman lead to another reality, that of the soul.
