Many retirees can barely make ends meet with their pension. Things are different for people who earn above average at 4,500 euros.

It's not that easy to determine the final amount of the pension. For pensioners who retire at the standard retirement age and receive the classic old-age pension, both the access factor and the pension type factor have no influence when calculating the monthly pension amount. For the sake of simplicity, the example calculation assumes that there was always a monthly salary of 4, 500 euros over this period. This results in 59.5 pay points. Multiplied again by the current pension value of 37.60 euros, this results in a pension amount of around 2,237 euros. However, depending on individual factors, the actual value at the time of retirement may vary more or less than 1.19 points per year.
