Three tsunami warnings issued following the violent tremor. More than 87,000 people in Taiwan are currently without electricity. Three other earthquakes, of magnitude 5.7, were recorded off the eastern coast of Taiwan: the US geophysical institute Usgs reports this on its website. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center later said the tsunami threat "has now passed"
