7.4 magnitude earthquake in Taiwan, tsunami warning. Two tsunami warnings were issued following the violent tremor.
The earthquake was located 18 km south-east of Hualien City, about 155 km south of the capital Taipei, at a depth of 34.8 km. It was followed by a second earthquake of magnitude 6.5, located in the sea, 11 km north-west of HUALien City. The second earthquake was reported to be of a magnitude of 7.4.
