After the WHO declared the end of the health emergency, vaccination in the country fell by almost half. While mortality is down, it's still four times that of the flu.

So far this year the coronavirus in its Ómicron version has left 252 deaths, while in all of last year the flu (which marked a historical record of cases) threw 143 deaths. WHO is currently monitoring two subvariants of Omicron that may be more aggressive but apparently not more contagious.
