Christopher Nolan's film about the development of nuclear weapons achieves a box office record in Japan. The Japanese premiere of 'Oppenheimer' brought together 23 national personalities, including a famous survivor of the Nagasaki atomic bomb and anti-nuclear activist.

“Twenty years ago it was impossible for a film like this to be made in the United States,” adds Masao Tomonaga, today a researcher specialized in blood diseases. Ken Watanabe, who worked with Nolan and Cillian Murphy in Batman Begins, praises the work of these actors in Oppenheimer.
