Gianni Crea is the head of security for the Holy See museum complex. He supervises a team of ten “clavigeri” (literally the “key carriers”) Each clavigero opens 60 to 75 doors, a total of more than 270 doors per day.
The most precious is the only one not numbered: the one giving access to the famous Sistine Chapel. It is placed every evening in a sealed envelope and kept in a safe.
