The incident occurred in the morning hours near kilometer 670 of the Gobernador Bustos highway, between the towns of Elena and Berrotarán. The authorities could not determine in the first instance the causes of the Scania truck overturning.

The driver was the one who bore the brunt of the accident, suffering the amputation of one of his feet. The truck, meanwhile, was destroyed, with the cabin over the center of the highway and the trailer overturned between the asphalt and the grass. A group of armed criminals intercepted the staff of a company dedicated to the sale of poultry products in Córdoba who were on their way to make a deposit of money in the bank. The criminals took loot that they estimate at 25 million pesos (roughly $1.5 million). The incident occurred on Route 36, in the south of the province. The two occupants of the vehicle, aged 31 and 24 and from Mendoza, suffered serious consequences in the accident. The younger of the two suffered multiple traumas.
