The Council of Ministers has approved the appointment of Vittorio Giannini as the new head of the Italian Police. The appointment will be formalized at the next meeting of the Council.
The Council also approved a measure for the reduction of administrative burdens on citizens and businesses. The measure is intended to speed up and make data and services more accessible to the public. The decision was made on the basis of a law passed by the Italian Parliament in 1985. The law provides for the creation of a commission to look into ways of reducing the burden on the public purse.
