Amazon and BMW win lawsuit against counterfeiting in Spain. European Union Trademark Court in Alicante found that the criminals had broken the law, transgressed Amazon's policies and infringed the registered trademarks of the BMW Group.
The e-commerce group announced this in a note explaining that to manage the case, Amazon closed the defendants' sales accounts and eliminated the counterfeit product listings linked to the case. Amazon's dedicated unit, set up to identify and dismantle counterfeiting organisations, worked closely with BMW and brought a joint lawsuit against scammers.
