Amerigo Vespucci Training Ship is 93 years old and is the oldest unit of the Italian Military Navy. The sailboat will be visiting for five days as part of her second circumnavigation of the globe voyage in her history.
The ship was built at the Regio Cantiere Navale in Castellammare di Stabia (Naples) and she was released to sea on February 22, 1931. Its name is in honor of the famous navigator who explored the “New World”, America.
