The drug simulates the activity of the protein GLP-1 that is naturally present in the human body. It can lead to possible thyroid tumors, pancreatitis, vision changes, and kidney and gallbladder problems, according to the FDA. The FDA also warned of more serious complications that could occur as a result of injections or such as thyroid C-cell tumors.
