An American museum returns royal objects looted during colonization to Ghana. The Fowler Cultural Establishment returned seven artifacts to Asante King Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on Thursday to mark his silver jubilee celebrations.

The treasures, including gold jewelry, an ornamental chair and an elephant's tail whip, were presented during a lavish celebration at Manhyia Palace in the town of Kumasi. This gesture follows the announcement on January 25 by the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London to lend gold and silver objects looted from the Ashanti kingdom of Ghana for six years.
