[HIGHLIGHTS] Argentina's Celeste Saulo is the first woman to lead the UN World Meteorological Organization

First woman to be elected as head of the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) The position is the most important in the world in terms of weather, climate and water. The current WMO head is the Russian-born, British-born Andriana Kuznetsova.

Kuznetsa is the first woman to hold the position. She will take up the post on January 1, 2024. The position will be filled by a woman who has been in the WMO for more than a decade.
