Sophie Binet was elected head of the CGT at the end of March 2023. Former number one Philippe Martinez left the congress before the announcement of the results.
The two have not crossed paths since, Martinez now prefers to parade with his metallurgy federation. Some activists do not consider Binet's small federation really representative - that of the cadres. The new management has, in fact, made little change to the guideline adopted by its predecessor.
