Avalanche danger, Rhemes Valley closes, tourists evacuated. Regional road 24 in the Val di Rheme also closes as a precaution.
The traffic stop comes into force between 4pm and 4.30pm and isolates the municipality of Rhemes-Notre-Dame, at the bottom of the valley. "The avalanche danger is increasing and an avalanche has already approached the regional area," says the mayor of Rhemedame, Firmino Thérisod.
