Mowing the lawn on Sunday or holidays? This is actually forbidden. Lawn mowers and other garden tools with motors may only be started on weekdays between 7 a.m and 20 p.m. in purely residential areas. This is provided for in the nationwide Equipment and Machine Noise Protection Ordinance. The times are even stricter for leaf blowers, whose noise can be truly nerve-wracking.
