Laon emergency rooms closed for a few hours due to an infested patient. Tuesday evening, a patient admitted to Laon hospital (Aisne) was infested with this parasite.
Decision was made to call a special company specializing in decontamination. Bedbugs are brown, wingless insects about the size of an apple seed. They feed at night and can cause up to a hundred bites in eight to ten hours. Although they can cause allergic reactions, they do not, to date, transmit any disease.
