Brazilian singer Astrud Gilberto died on June 5 at her home in Philadelphia, USA. Along with saxophonist Stan Getz and guitarist Joao Gilberto, she recorded one of the greatest hits in the history of song in 1963.

Her soft, languorous voice made you want to dance a samba on a beach. Duets with George Michael and Étienne Daho were her last appearances on the stage before retiring in 1990. She was born on March 30, 1949 in the Bahia region of Brazil.
