For Italian directors the visibility of three films in competition as it has not happened for years (ANSA). The Best Actor Award at the 76th Cannes Film Festival was won by Koji Yakusho for the film Perfect Days by Wim Wenders.
The Camera d'or for Best First Film was won for Ben Trong Vo Ken Vang by Thien An Pham. The evening hosted by Chiara Mastroianni will be attended by Jane Fonda, Roger Corman and Quentin Tarantino who will present the Grand Prix.
