The prefecture of Alpes-Maritimes took Friday a decree prohibiting any demonstration in Cannes, around the Croisette. The CGT is determined to circumvent the restrictions, and has already planned various actions.

The union wants to make the international film event the voice of the opposition to the French pension reform. On April 21, as part of their announcement of "100 days of action and anger", the unions of the CGT Energy had evoked "energy disturbances" aimed at the Cannes Film Festival.
