The president of Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, has fired the deputy director of the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin), Alessandro Moretti. Moretti was director of Information and Innovation of the federal police in the Bolsonaro government and, for this reason, was viewed with suspicion by members of the Lula government.
He was fired in the wake of the investigation into parallel services that allegedly worked to the political advantage of former president Jair Bolsonero and his followers.
